why: This posting's purpose is to highlight my new owner/design team inspiration projects for HQCOLCB or Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love Challenges Blog. There are 5 main themes coded as "BEWAS" which stand for Birthdays, Engagements, Weddings, Anniversaries and Sympathies. The optional event for January or the 1st challenge of 2026 is Winter Wishes! I've chosen to create a birthday card and a sympathy card.

when: #1 in 2026 starts January 3 and ends January 31, 2026. 

what: Project #1: BEWAS ==> S for Sympathies

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. base (not showing) - white cardstock/scrap 4" x 6"

2. butterfly print paper & "LOVE" cut-a-part card= The Simple Life paper pad by Simple Stories

3. white CS scrap = punched with EK Success 2.25" diameter circle punch tool

4. 'sending many prayers your way' = in a mixed sentiment clear stamp set in an unmarked clear zip bag; I was given the bag so the vendor is unknown

5. dark olive green marker and an aqua/teal green marker = stash box

6. black ink pad = Hero Arts (perimeter inking)

7. enamel dots and pale green heart stickers = same mixed color tones pack = Freckled Fawn

Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags #1 in Jan 2026 design team projects

why: This posting showcases my design team efforts for HQFSCAT or Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags challenges blog. #1 in 2026 continues the anything goes on shaped card and/or shaped tag theme. Project #1 is a heart-shaped tag that I've inked, added an ink wood rose and three parts of the tie.  Project #2 is an arch top slimline card in gorgeous blues, white, light grays/silver and bits of purple tones for Happy New Year 2026!

when: #1 in 2026 starts January 2 and ends on January 31. 

what: Project #1: heart shaped tag 

how-to & vendor notes for #1: great to add to tiered tray for decoration, add more cording or gingham fabric strip for a tie/hanger to put on a tree or hang from a cabinet door knob, put on an anniversary or Valentine's gift bag

1. laser cut wood heart DIY decoration with twine (part of a pack) = Crafter's Square

2. three tones of red alcohol markers for heart and rose = Arteza

3. laser cut wood rose DIY decoration (part of diff designs pack) = Crafter's Square

4. red cording (came in a three color set) = Crafter's Square

5. red gingham fabric came as wire edged ribbon= Crafter's Square; wire sides were trimmed off

My Critter Crazy Challenges #106 for Dec 2026 Anything Goes Featured Critter DT card

why: The purpose of this posting is to showcase my newest owner/DT project for Critter Crazy Challenges #106. Every month the theme is anything goes with a featured critter. This time I'm using a toucan digital image that I printed and colored at least 2 years ago. It is original artwork made by an artisan blogger friend, Mary Smith's husband Mark. 

when: #106 starts December 1 and ends December 25, 2026

what: Project #1:

1. toucan digital image = original artwork image/digital download by Mary Smith's husband, Mark Smith. Mary is a DT member of FarmQuest Country Christmas Challenge Blog.  

2. digi image printed on neon lime green CS (printer scanner faded it to yellow) = Astrobrights/Neenah

3. colored pencils = several vendors in my stash box

4. CS scrap strips = stash/various vendors
