Howdy! Yippee! In between crockpot meals, helping my mom, babysitting our honorary granddaughter 2 afternoons in a row, I've gotten some paper-crafting completed! YES!

Welcome to Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! The purpose of this blog is to showcase the design projects that I make for Heart's Quest and FarmQuest challenge blogs. I also occasionally make bonus inspirations to be able to network and make more social connections to other challenge blogs and Facebook groups through linking. 

This post features FarmQuest's new theme #7:

For this bonus inspiration card I decided to do something different than what I showed on the main post published on June 28th. That card had a full barrel and a watering can. 

This card has a half barrel full of apples, a wood bucket with handle, and 2 different bushel baskets which are not needed but wanted to incorporate and utilize the sentiment tag. 

Clipart Library website provided the images. Echo Park produced the sentiment. Everything else is old stash supplies.

P.S. a 3x great grandfather on my mom's father's side was a cooper (barrel maker) when he came to Illinois from Germany around 1855, I think for the year. He eventually earned enough money working in a town along the Illinois River that he was able to slowly buy some farm acreage every few years. He'd stay in town during the week to work then work the land on weekends. As his sons got older and could help out more, it got to the point that the farm crops and animals made enough income that he could stop being a cooper.

FQCB Theme #7 design inspiration project showcased

 Howdy! Yippee! At Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog the projects crafted for Heart's Quest and FarmQuest challenge blogs are featured.

I've used a combination of elements from a card kit by Simple Stories mixed with items from my stash (floral spray layered stick-on, light blue with tiny white dots ribbon tape, the gray/white checked paper, little blue butterfly with tiny white pearl, and the stamp for "HB").

HQCB Color Heart Theme #5 with Red Heart Inspiration Project

 Heartfelt greetings!

Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog has its focus on the inspiration projects I create for my 2 challenge blogs--Heart's Quest and FarmQuest. 

This posting focuses on HQCB's new Color Heart Theme #5 which requires:

*at least 1 red heart shape

AND

*usage of red as the dominant color in the project (about 60+% or more)

lots of details! With a spring clearance mystery box purchase about 2 months ago from the Peachy Cheap website, it included 2 TNs (Traveler's Notebooks). I decided to use one for Scripture writing type journaling. Hopefully I can discipline myself better to do this on a consistent basis. 

If you like TN and journal spreads, you really need to check out TN Times created by Lisa Hidy and Lori Stroup. Lisa provides the sketch and Lori provides a prompt for something that needs to be used (May 2022 it was washi tape and dots). 

Together they also do The Great Stash Bash as a monthly kit challenge with their formula to use to base a working kit on. Lori provides a prompt there too for a specific embellishment item to include.

I just loved how this came together! The balance of colors, the layout, and different techniques and shapes to highlight this verse from Habakkuk.

FQCB Reminder Card for Appreciation Theme #2

 Howdy! Have you seen anything about FarmQuest challenge blog yet? Or what about its Appreciation Cards extra challenge?

This posting features the reminder midway point in the competition already for Theme #2. The appreciation cards challenge uses Thanksgiving expressions and Harvest topic images that are paired up for the themes.

FQCB Reminder card Theme #6 Berries or Cherries AND vessel that is not a basket

 Howdy! It must be midway day to the FarmQuest current theme project!

This blog has been created to feature projects made for FarmQuest and Heart's Quest challenge blogs that I own and started in 2022.

FarmQuest's Theme #6 is different than the one back for #3 which required a basket. This time you can have berries or cherries and some type of vessel container that is different than a basket (jar, pan, plate, or bowl). Deadline for Theme #6 is 12:30am CT zone on June 27th. 

My card is 'the jam!'...haha!!!The dark purple and bright blue help make the other elements really get noticed, I think.

BONUS inspiration project:

The smallest freebie image was printed small on bright blue copy paper and then I used magenta, pink, and purple markers to fill in the stars not having the words of love. 

Pink cardstock base is about 3.25" x 6.25 or 6.5" for the mini slimline size. uneven scraps of 3 different purple hues were used along with a white glitter decorative tape and 2 strips from a variegated washi tape in blues, pinks, and lavenders.

2 silver corner dazzles from Paper Wishes website were accent elements. And old alpha stickers spelling "AWE" were used on the right side. 

This card could be for encouragement or congratulations/milestone. I might even use it for a couple's anniversary that is coming in a week or so.

FQCB Appreciation Card Theme #2 showcased

 Howdy! Glad you came to the farm--FarmQuest Challenge Blog Theme #2 Appreciation Cards Showcase Post!

Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity was made to highlight the inspiration projects made for my 2 new challenge blogs, FarmQuest and Heart's Quest. These were started in late March and late February of 2022. 

Both challenge blogs are starting to grow slowly. FarmQuest was created to have themes for the relaxed country, rural living enthusiasts. If you love topics related to lake/pond life, camping, farming/ranching, gardening, hiking, etc. then you want to keep track of the 2 week competitions at FQCB.

Appreciation Cards is an extra challenge page option right now that I offered last month for about 14 days and this is the 2nd offering from June 14-27, 2022.

HQCB Love Theme #4 love for stars cards showcased

 Heartfelt greetings to Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!

This blog is to showcase cards/projects made for FarmQuest and Heart's Quest challenge blogs that I own. Since April, I've been trying to have 1 guest designer sharing a project per post if I'm able. Today's feature has 2 cards made for Love Theme #4 "love for stars".

*use the word 'love' (or a form of it; other language equivalent, etc.)

AND

*at least 1 star image (there are 2 freebie images I made that you can download to use)

Acceptable formats are: scrapbook layouts, TN/journal/planner spreads, bookmarks, tags, ATCs, and/or cards. Both challenge blogs can have 3 new themed entries from each participant. With so many formats possible, your creative options are huge!

Here's what I made while I was in a mixed media mood:

The above card was just over a mini-slimline size at about 4"x6". The blue with white stars 'paper' is a hot dog thin paper liner sold in a set of 16 at Dollar Tree. When I saw them I wasn't thinking food, I was seeing them as graphic prints and how I could use them in sections. Star stencil sheet was used in a white cardstock panel then embellished with hearts, the word love, and that spectacular silver glitter foam star. 

This 2nd card uses one of the freebie images I made and printed on light blue cardstock. Navy blue paint was applied on the right side of the light green cardstock and then the diagonal striped pastel paper right side was torn to reveal the paint. Other colored cardstock scraps were color-blocked behind. A blue/teal print heart that is the same pattern used in HQCB's Color Heart #4 dark blue challenge (the previous theme). The freebie image is the new item and the rest is old stash stock items.

I'm having a hard time trying to shorten this blog title. 

HQCB has love and heart based themes while FQCB has country/rural living topics.

I'm going to have to keep pondering on this. Meanwhile, I came across a new to me challenge blog that was linked to a participant's blog posting for another blog that I'm on the design team for. I was curious when it showed in her blog archive a listing for CCEE Stamper Country Cooking Month! 

What???? So that was 5-6 hours ago. After a supper break and an unexpected visit from our honorary daughter and granddaughter who were out for a stroller walk, I decided to quickly get busy coming up with a small card. 

This honors a couple of gardening/orchard/farmers market topics we've had thus far for FarmQuest. So there is no current challenge that this supports but I will give the most current posting link for FQCB. 

A Mini Slimline Country Cooking Encouragement card=

Diamond cut white glitter cardstock base is 3" wide x 6" high. The white cardstock panel lifted by foam tape is 2.5" wide x 4" high. Green ink on the top panel perimeter. The pea ephemera is from Carta Bella's Farm To Table Frames and Tags set. The wooden spoon and rubber spatula framed stamp is by Bo Bunny [NEW; 1st of the set to use!!!]. The "take good care" stamp, I believe, is Hampton Arts. There was some green and blue ink dabbing in the center as well as the frame stamp was first done in green and then inked in black with the stamp lined up about 1/16" offset. A small scrap of checked gingham is from Hot Off the Press/Paper Wishes website. 

That's it. Trying to keep this Clean And Simple.

HQCB BONUS Color Heart in Dark Blue 2nd Nautical CAS Version Card

This is Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!

This blog is to showcase cards I create for Heart's Quest and FarmQuest challenge blogs that I started earlier this year. Today's bonus card is to promote HQCB's Color Heart theme using dark/navy blue. Deadline is 12:30am CT/Chicago June 13, 2022.

*use a dark blue heart

(mine's not very obvious--look in the top 'opening' of the anchor)

AND

*use lots of dark blues in the rest of the project

With this bonus card that will also be linked to 2 CAS style challenges, I used dark blue in my stamped banners/flags, tracing the anchor stencil, and applying 2 different blue ink pads via sponges. 

The kraft paper is blocking the scanner light of my printer. Diamond cut white glitter paper is the base. The featured panel is plain white cardstock. 3 white glitter dots were cut out additional white glitter cardstock. And then there are 3 light blue with white dot 'spots' hole-punched from a ribbon type decorative tape but these are hard to find in the photos, even the cropped closeup one. Overall dimension is 5" wide x 7" high. 

This is the cropped focal portion of the card made last night so you can contrast. I used less background stamping, no glitter dots, no red, no colored pencil for the ribbon part of the stencil, and changed proportions a bit for Sunday night's card seen up above.

Besides the HQCB dark blue heart and lots of dark blue, the themes from 4 other challenge blogs are: CAS-dots, Seashore/inc. a stamp, World Ocean Day (June 8) with a stamp, and By the Sea.

I've got the 'water', faux boat/ship banner/flags and an anchor for the sea/ocean elements. 

There are dots in some of the banners/flags.

Stamps used were the banners/flags one and the 'thinking of you' applied under the anchor traced stencil. Both of these are very old stamps that I've had for many years.

HQCB BONUS project 2 Inspired by Color Heart Using Dark Blue challenge

FQCB BONUS project inspired by Theme #5 herbs or foliage AND clay pot or vase

Howdy! Yee-haw! This is a bonus project inspired by FarmQuest Challenge Blog's Theme #5.

Theme #5 requires:

*use herbs or foliage (leafy stem)

AND

*clay pot or vase

Competition ends at 12:30am CT/Chicago time on June 13, 2022. 

It's a personal creative struggle--a real challenge--to keep it clean and simple. 

But here's my first attempt at CAS style in about 5 months:

With using the computer printer scanner, it is hard to distinguish between the white cardstock used to block the light and the white cardstock used for the base. 

A little bit of light green stenciling for the leafy-looking rays; leafy washi tape, a little stamp, 2 small rub-on transfers for the foliage and pot; and one lone green gem. That's it.

HQCB BONUS Project inspired by Color Heart #4 dark blue with an art journal page

 Welcome to Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity! 

Sorry for the long title! I'm still thinking about how to re-word this. My personal crafting blog using "Becca Morris Sadler" is called Becca's Heart for Creativity. Then as "Becca Sadler" I started Heart's Quest Challenge Blog and FarmQuest Challenge Blog. With the 2 challenge blogs, I wanted to have a personal blog to showcase the inspiration projects that I make for the different themes. So that's how I came up with BHQFLACC!!!

Back to the reason for this post: HQCB's current Color Heart Theme #4 using at least 1 dark blue heart and at least 60+% of dark blue in the rest of the project has had 0 entries so far. 

I haven't done any art/mixed media journal pages recently so I thought I'd have some messy strategizing fun on this sheet of watercolor sketch paper.

"Be Mine" done on June 5, 2022=

a few credits to mention: the 'be mine' stamp and the layered dotted heart stamp are from different Raisin Boat stamp sets; the micro-thin border strip sections is from a sheet of them bought ages ago from Current Catalog; the dark blue and white damask print hearts are from scraps of a peel-n-stick wallpaper 'panel' bought recently at Dollar Tree.

the rectangle stencil, other hearts stenciled around, and the stenciled letters for 'be mine' are from my stash

most of the inking in 2 shades of blue and 1 of purple were dabbed with some wadded up gauze and then in the center boxes, the dark blue was dabbed on with the end of a makeup sponge

some stitch line doodles

some little dark blue glitter spots were made by hole punching a section of decorative tape!!!!

I think that just about covers everything. I signed and dated it after scanning.
