My featured FQCB #69 Nocturnal animal theme DT card on 28 Feb 2025

 Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!

why: FarmQuest was the 2nd challenge blog that I started on my own. Having grown up with parents who farmed as well as grandparents and greats, providing blogland with a farm country devoted challenge seemed the right thing to do.

when: #69 nocturnal animals theme starts February 28- March 27, 2025.

what: From under the stars, happy wishes from Ricky Raccoon

notes:

1. base cut to 5" x 7" Sandcastle Tan cardstock = CutCardStock

2. yellow checked paper = Simply Summer paper pad by Fancy Pants Designs

3. star print paper (stars were white) = Summer Theme paper pack by Riley & Co.

4. 'happy' & 'wishes' stencils were part of a sheet = Crafter's Square

5. several colored pencils and red-brown marker for faux stitch border doodling and tree branch sketching = stash

6. raccoon fussy cut from paper/design from a small pad = Crafter's Square; I added pencil perimeter edging around all parts/sections of the raccoon to give it touches of artist sketching;

7. raccoon was mounted and then fussy cut again on taupe paper = from a scrap pack by Crafter's Square

8. Dusk Blue alcohol marker for the navy blue filled-in stars = Arteza

9. blue glitter paint pen = Inc./part of a set

other places to share/link are:

a. Just Us Girls; week 4/anything goes with a stencil; on this raccoon card, I stenciled "happy wishes"

b. Inspired By; IB #325 is Gingham; see the badge; I like to use gingham and/or plaid (or woodgrain) for lots of my farm country creative projects. Gingham fabric was a classic in the 1940s-current and readily available in the dry goods sections of small town mercantiles. It was used for kitchen curtains, aprons, tablecloths/fabric napkins and often for shirts.

c. Krafty Chicks; week 4/masculine; see the badge; on my card, the raccoon and outside night scene would appeal to guys, even young boys; most of the colors are neutrals with some blue for starry sky and there is a lack of bling which most guys appreciate

d. Seize The Birthday; started Feb 27; theme topping/option is no stamping and must be birthday; MY card's expression is 'happy wishes' and will go to one of my male cousins for their birthday (about every other year I try to get birthday cards mailed to each of my first cousins: I have 9 remaining paternal cousins and 10 remaining maternal cousins and there are 9 guy cousins of those surviving; I've lost 3 male paternal cousins and 1 female maternal cousin already....) Then I have 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 1 niece-in-law, 1 nephew-in-law, 1 great nephew and 1 great niece so far! ) ...my card has stenciled 'happy wishes'... no stamping; sketched tree branches...again, no stamping
