or school memories = several times from about sixth grade through high school biology, I had to have insect collections to display for science classes. Lots of time was spent outside looking for butterflies, moths, bees, flies, bugs/beetles, etc. Specimens could be found dead if a quality specimen. Identification took the longest time since this was many years before the internet. Encyclopedias and library books were my references. Sometimes, I biked 2 miles away from my childhood home to the nearest creek for insect gathering!
