Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog!

Quick post: about 10-11 weeks ago I started an art journaling book with geometric designs influenced by the famous paintings of Piet Mondrian. To make these designs my own, I've tried venturing away from his primary colors and adding diagonal lines and/or circles and the previous two pages/weeks I've used my childhood Spirograph to add in some unusual patterns.

For #10 I went back to using black marker lines for separating the design spaces and colored pencils for my coloring medium. And used some primary tones and then 1 slightly different yellow, and a rusty red and 2 different blues, 1 that is more aqua and the other hints more to purple.

  1. Ooh! I really like the way the sections are narrower in the center and widen as they reach the edges! and the multiple shades are v cool... but my favorite part is the big diamond criss cross!

  7. Hey, there!, Shirley!!! Sometimes I haven't scanned to get different angled perspectives but when I do, I sometimes like the design from another viewpoint! Thanks for stopping by again!!
