why: This post showcases 2 more inspiration samples for Heart's Quest Lovable Quotables Challenges blog that will debut its first challenge session on February 5. Preview D post will have a very old quote from an ancient Greek poet and then the other sample has a Bible verse quote which contains my Bible Word of the Year: overcome/overcometh. The theme for this NEW challenge blog is "Anything Goes Quotes". 

when: preview D post will be published on January 21, 2026 afternoon

what: Project #1: quote by Pindar: an ancient Greek poet from Thebes; found through an online search on topic of gifts

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. blue with some purple watercolor/swirl print CS [SQUARE] = from multi-color pack = Crafter's Square

2. bold blue CS for banner = scrap cut = Astrobrights/Neenah

3. [stencil] template for gift box and banner = same plastic template sheet = Crafter's Square

4. yellow bow and yellow rose stickers = Garden Party by Maggie Holmes at American Crafts 2020

5. Aqua Plaid print paper scrap = Recollections/not dated

6. collage print that includes the flowers [SQUARE] = very old 2013, My Mind's Eye

7. word processing/Google Doc print after online search for quote

8. old/turned beige copy paper for print-out for quote (and others)

9. two tones of gray markers = stash box; for outlining and banner parts; also a yellow marker for part of the ribbon

*square = the base is square and so is the floral collage CS

*layers = at least 4; overlapping in the middle area; varies from 2-4 depending on what part of the card that you're looking at

*stencil = used for the banner that was fussy cut and placed at the top; also for the ribbon wrapped gift box added next to the quote

1. bright yellow and bright green CS cut to size with green = 4" x 6" = Astrobrights/Neenah

2. old copy paper for printing/Google Doc for Bible verse; I John 5:5 KJV

3. two decorative tapes = both are part of Farmstead Harvest washi tape pack by American Crafts

4. silver cross 'dazzle'/sticker = Hot Off The Press

5. layered flower stickers = Crafter's Square

6. stencil for banner, happy, wishes = Crafter's Square (same stencil template)

7. enamel dots; different colors, sizes; same set = Freckled Fawn

8. celery green colored pencil = Marvy Uchida
