why: This posting's purpose is to highlight my new owner/design team inspiration projects for HQCOLCB or Heart's Quest Celebrations of Love Challenges Blog. There are 5 main themes coded as "BEWAS" which stand for Birthdays, Engagements, Weddings, Anniversaries and Sympathies. The optional event for January or the 1st challenge of 2026 is Winter Wishes! I've chosen to create a birthday card and a sympathy card.

when: #1 in 2026 starts January 3 and ends January 31, 2026. 

what: Project #1: BEWAS ==> S for Sympathies

how-to & vendor notes for #1:

1. base (not showing) - white cardstock/scrap 4" x 6"

2. butterfly print paper & "LOVE" cut-a-part card= The Simple Life paper pad by Simple Stories

3. white CS scrap = punched with EK Success 2.25" diameter circle punch tool

4. 'sending many prayers your way' = in a mixed sentiment clear stamp set in an unmarked clear zip bag; I was given the bag so the vendor is unknown

5. dark olive green marker and an aqua/teal green marker = stash box

6. black ink pad = Hero Arts (perimeter inking)

7. enamel dots and pale green heart stickers = same mixed color tones pack = Freckled Fawn
