My Mondrian Mondays Journal Page #1 on 17 March 2025

Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity!

post purpose: My plan is to do 2-3 Mondrian Monday Journal Pages each month which will be dependent on how some of my challenge blogs land. Because most of mine start on a specific # date and 2 are Friday/alternating and 1 other on first Saturday of each month. A certain artisan blogger has been doing Mandala Mondays for several years that I'm aware of so I didn't want to copy her but I liked the idea of alliterating. So Piet Mondrian, famous Dutch painter and art theorist from late 1800s - early 1900s became my inspiration. I tried to do this with as much randomness that I could. I didn't want the color tones all being used 2x each nor the sizes of the 'boxes' to be the same.

when: blog post will be published on Monday, March 17, 2025; this is a non-design team project; no commitment to any of my challenge blogs or to ones I manage or am just a DT member for someone else's blogs.

what: Mondrian-inspired Journal Page #1 =

notes:

1. "Be You" notched journal notebook; elastic band closure; made in Indonesia; distributed by Dollar General; has peach tone grid/graph paper sheets

2. gray and black gel marker pens (also tan and dark brown); set of 4 = Zebra Clickart

3. colored pencils from 3 sources = Crayola, Crazy Art and Marvy Uchida

4. pencil, eraser, ruler, and also scissors used to trim page 1 and 2 on the right side...will be skipping every other page to avoid any bleeding through = stash

    1. Tee-hee! In the past few years, I just tend to go to card-making instead of keeping up with different journals and TNs I've started. I'm hoping I can stick with this one for awhile. I'm grateful for your blog visit!

  7. Your Mondrian-inspired Journal Page is definitely eye-catching - and you've certainly accomplished your goals of different size boxes and alternate hues of lemon and lime. It's a treat to see something other than cards; thank you for sharing this at Colour Hues.

    1. Wow! My house interior walls are all variations of purples, mostly lavenders or orchid, and flowers! I'm not sure this modern geometric journal page would fit in. I'm hoping in the next few months to either have a dedicated room for my creative space or getting a she shed for that purpose. So maybe then I could have some wall space to decorate. I've got ATCs that I would love to hang on clothesline/twine, too. Fingers crossed that this happens soon.
