Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity!
why: this post is to share design team projects for FarmQuest General Store #35, a crafting challenge blog. The theme is anything farm and/or country goes. Looking for rural outdoors kind of topics and from lots of different environments/geographic settings around the world.
when: #35 starts December 7, 2025 and ends on Jan 5, 2026.
what: Project #1: scarecrow with his straw
and a closeup scan for the tag on the rope belt and the lettering on the pant leg
how-to & vendor notes for #1:
1. muted olive green print cardstock = Enchanted Garden collection by Fancy Pants Designs
2. bright/orange cardstock that faded to yellow-peach tone = Astrobrights/Neenah
3. colored pencils = from stash/several vendors
4. green dual-tip marker = Art Skills (for distressed inking around the perimeter of the orange CS)
5. border sticker = very old Current Events catalog purchase (from a multi-print sheet)
6. metallic gold foil 'thanks' tag and the lettering dazzles = purchase from Paper Wishes
7. foam adhesives squares used to lift up the scarecrow image
8. the scarecrow image was cut from the title page = Kappie's Book 59 "A Little Country" book of 50 counted cross stitch projects designed by Janice Baldwin; published in 1985; this past year, I came across this gem at my mom's place. I'm not patient enough to sit still for counted cross stitch!!! But I can use the clipart illustrations and the pattern designs for cards and tags!
