FQCB Theme #9 Inspiration Project showcased

Image
Howdy! Thanks for visiting the farm/FarmQuest through this personal blog! FarmQuest has a new theme #9 since theme 8, elements are offered as and/or to give crafters more flexibility regarding what they have in their stash #9= windmill, weathervane, and/or barn For the main posting of FQCB published earlier today my inspiration project has a windmill and barn.  This card definitely has charm!! I love the farmhouse vintage checked gingham papers (Hot Off The Press via Paper Wishes website). The yellow gingham tag and 2 ephemera (theme elements) are from different sets by Echo Park. The background yellow and base black cardstocks are stash scraps. Staples to give support legs to the fan blades portion of the windmill was a resourceful touch. The old lettering stickers work perfectly for this card.  LINK to FarmQuest Theme #9= https://farmquestchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/07/fqcb-theme-9-weathervane-or-windmill.html ___________________________________ Participation deadline is 12:30 am C

FQCB bookmark BONUS project Theme #8 animal and or wagon

Image
Howdy! Welcome to the Farm!   FarmQuest Challenge Blog and Heart's Quest Challenge Blog design inspiration projects made by me plus any extra bonus projects to promote the themes are showcased at this blog! FQCB and HQCB were started by me earlier this year. FQCB Theme #8 requires an animal and/or a wagon! For the main post and reminder post I created cards with both elements. This bonus card features just an animal--a sheep--and scraps of patterned cardstocks.   Hi! to Ewe bookmark= The 3 patterned cardstocks are from an old Mint Berry paper pad (The Paper Studio) that is my goal to bash this year. These scraps have already been counted as used. I think the count is about 34 sheets (4.5" x 6.5") out of the original 80. I started the year at 63, so hopefully in the next 5 months I can finish the pad that was copyrighted in 2016. Black, lime green, and bright pink cording repeat the cardstock colors.  The ewe was an extra free clipart image I had printed out last year on

Howdy! Welcome to the farm!  This blog showcases design inspiration projects and bonus promotion makes for challenges at Heart's Quest and FarmQuest challenge blogs.  Showcased in this posting is an awesome Old West USA Frontier vibe using both theme #8 elements (wagon and animal)! [this is the first time the theme elements are given as 'and/or']   Don't you just love this shaggy Highland cow?!?!!! He's a rub-on transfer!! YES!!! And I just thought he needs to be in front of the covered wagon (free clip art image from ClipArt Library website). The image was printed on kraft paper, then measured, cut, and inked with the rub-on transfer added last.  The white with black short lines paper under it is actually business envelope security liner that was recycled!!! Edge was torn and inked to make it appear old. Same thing for the arched sentiment and two of the scraps banner tails under the sunflower. The metal 'ribbon' was found at Dollar Tree several months ago

HQCB Love Theme #5 for travel or transport inspiration project showcased

Heartfelt greetings as I showcase my inspiration card for HQCB Love Theme #5.  Lots of cards elements are from Simple Stories and from Lake Life paper pad which is by Fancy Pants Designs. There are the outdoor and camping icons, car, lots of luggage and the word 'lake'. Then the word 'love' shows up in that Lake Life paper. I underlined 'love' using green and rust tones that match the Simple Stories' elements which definitely helps those words to stand out now. Overall, a great card to give someone on vacation or maybe that's acquired a lakeview cabin.  HQCB #5's Required theme elements to have are: *include the word 'love' (can be loves, loved, loving; part of a phrase of sentence; could be a language equivalent like agape, amore, etc.) AND * at least 1 image that is travel or transportation related. The travel or transport could be a postcard, luggage, vehicles, maps, compass, destination locations for travel, etc. You know how to do this!

HQCB Bonus Version #2 for Color Heart Theme #5 expiring 13 July 2022

Hello! Welcome to Becca's Quest for Love and Country Creativity! On this blog I showcase my design inspiration projects for Heart's Quest and FarmQuest challenge blogs that I started earlier this year. This particular card is a bonus project made with only about 10 hours left in the current HQCB competition. Getting the word out about HQCB and FQCB as many ways that I can is my reason for making this CAS style through linking to 4 other current challenges! Combining HQCB's red heart image and mostly red usage requirements with CAS kids, splatters (ink blots), summer mood board, and anything goes was accomplished within this card: Details: 1. white textured specialty paper scrap for the background and white cardstock with a torn/cut uneven bottom edge base 2. 2 layers of white sketch paper were layered for the hearts; this version has 4 hearts using 3 different sizes 3. pink, red, yellow, and orange markers were dotted in 2 heart cut-outs and in 2 stamped hearts in the lef

FQCB Theme #7 BONUS pocket tag showcased

Howdy! Yippee!!! I took time late last night to embellish a pocket tag with an insert as a bonus project for FarmQuest's Theme #7 that is close to deadline. Theme #7 started June 28th and ends early on July 14th at 12:30am CT/Chicago.  The required duo elements are: *use at least 1 barrel image (half size barrels are okay) AND * at least 1 of these--bucket, watering can/sprinkling type, or pitcher This bonus project started with a pocket tag with white cording from Hampton Arts (2015), 2 stickers from Webster's Pages, white 'hi' dazzle from Paper Wishes website, a side view barrel clip art image (free from ClipArt Library website), and other stash items. Viola! the clip art image was printed on kraft paper and cut out; a hand-written sentiment was added then green colored pencil filled the barrel top for some contrast; extra cording in yellow and light blue were added to the white cording that the pocket tag came with; seam binding lace was wrapped around the scrap s

Howdy! Yippee and Yikes!! FarmQuest has reached the midway point for Theme #7. Its requirements are: *at least 1 barrel image AND *at least 1 image of a watering can or a pitcher (pouring style for tea, lemonade, milk, etc.) or a bucket You can show a combination of these containers too.  I can envision cats standing 'round a pail of milk or dogs licking at a rain barrel and/or watering can that is dripping. Lots of other possibilities, too.  C'mon! Show me your brilliant creativity with this. On the reminder posting Mags B is the Guest Designer, so please use the provided link shown further down to go see how she made her Theme #7 inspiration card.  This is my Theme #7 reminder inspiration card: a. Simple Stories card kits: top-folded white card as base, the 2 print background panel, the large sentiment focal, the rain boots and watering can die-cuts b. the purple glitter butterfly is from a set of different sizes by Studio 112 through Spotted Canary c. the barrel clip art i

HQCB Reminder card Color Heart #5 inspiration project

Image
Heartfelt greetings as I share the red heart in a mostly red card from the Heart's Quest Reminder post for Color Heart #5. The midway point has come today. Dottie Seubert is the Guest Designer for the reminder post and her gorgeous card can be seen on the reminder post that I will link share down below.  My card was created for Valentine's Day 2023.  Stamps were purchased from Sum More Fun using red ink on a light gray-taupe textured specialty paper. The center heart was stamped open, so I used a red glitter paint pen to fill it in especially because the required theme is to have at least 1 red heart shape.  The background white with red flower paper is a full sheet (4.5" x 6.5") from Mint Berry paper pad that I've set as my goal to bash in 2022 (per 100 pattern paper challenge group in FB).  Easy to make a beautiful mostly red project with 2 red hearts!
