FQCB Theme #5 showcased

Image
Welcome to Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! On this blog I am featuring cards/projects made for HQCB and FQCB, two challenge blogs that I started in 2022.  This posting features FarmQuest Theme #5 : *use herbs or foliage branch/leafy stem AND *use a clay pot/s or vase Garden inspired whether you think of herbs on the windowsill or have in an outdoor barrel or garden plot. The other option is a leafy branch. Sometimes we do a few for filler with some flowers but sometimes the simplicity of a single stem is all that is needed. Lots of flex with this and there are lots of formats to choose from too! Cards, ATCs, tags, bookmarks, journals/planners, TN spreads, and various sizes and types of scrapbook layouts...have fun! My inspiration card: Terrific mix of patterned papers! Thanks to Simple Stories' card kit "Love Grows Here" for the sage green tag, the text strip, the lilies of the valley, the herbs, the clay pots with shovel, and the black pl

HQCB Color Heart #4 using a dark blue heart

Image
Welcome to Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! For this issue I'm showcasing Heart's Quest Challenge Blog's Color Heart Theme #4 . It uses a dark blue heart and has a lot of dark shades of blue = a few credits: 2001 Stampin' Up stamp; a scrap of a white and black plaid patterned paper from The Paper Studio was altered with a navy blue marker applied to the white blocks; the other floral themed print paper is an oldie from my stash. Navy pearl gems for embellishment. The dark blue background cardstock is 6" square and then it was backed with black to help the dark blues stand out.  What do you have in your stash? or in your digital files? Go on a quest, take some time to create and then go to Heart's Quest Challenge Blog to participate!  Link= https://heartsquestchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/05/hqcb-color-heart-challenge-4-using-dark.html ____________________________________________ Challenge blogs and FB groups where this will be sha

HQCB Valentines Day Card Challenge Theme #2 using heart or love AND arrow

Image
Greetings from Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! This issue showcases the inspiration card for the  Valentine's Day Card Challenge page option at Heart's Quest Challenge Blog Theme #2 for May 28-June 13, 2022 *use heart/love AND *arrow (clipart, stamp, paper clip, etc.) ____________________________ My True Love Arrows mini slimline card= I wanted to make a quick and easy card featuring the poppy print cardstock from Mint Berry paper pad by The Paper Studio. It's my goal to bash for 100 pattern paper challenge FB group for 2022. I've got both heart shapes and the word 'love'/true love phrase used on this. The 'true love' stamp used twice with metallic gold stamp pad ink was a NBUS . It's becoming a fast favorite. I liked adding the crossed staples to replicate the crossed arrows plus it reduced the amount of adhesive needed between the top green layer and the red. Win-Win for me. Another win was being quick to make! :) To

FQCB Page Option Extra Challenge Appreciation Cards REMINDER post inspiration

Image
Welcome to Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! This posting features the inspiration card for the new and current extra challenge page option at FQCB.  Theme #1 for Thanksgiving Harvest Appreciation Cards Challenge requires this pairing= * sentiment = give thanks AND *topic image= fruits and vegetables mix (can be in a basket, tray, seed catalog cover, cornucopia, table centerpiece, etc.) My inspiration card for the REMINDER post: a few credits for this rainbow colored appreciation card: (1) the fruit and vegetable image was fussy cut from a hospital health and wellness booklet; (2) the green checked gingham scrap is from Hot Off The Press; (3) the lime green chevron scrap is from The Paper Studio; and (4) there are 3 die-cut/ephemera from Echo Park (the frame, the good eats sign, and the navy blue banner tag). These die-cuts/ephemera are NBUS, just arriving at the start of this week.  Link-ups= FarmQuest Challenge Blog's page option Thanksgiving Harvest

FQCB Theme #4 REMINDER posting featured inspiration card

Image
Welcome to Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! I've got 2 fairly new challenges called Heart's Quest and FarmQuest.  So in the blog name the country refers to rural living. The current theme #4 at FQCB pairs poultry and wire/metal as the requirements.  For the REMINDER posting, my inspiration project has a small rooster image and some metal "ribbon" sections that I thought looked leafy. Color-wise I tried to brighten things up and to use scraps I had placed in my April kit for The Great Stash Bash challenge with Lisa H and Lori S.  Link-ups= FQCB Theme #4 REMINDER posting link= https://farmquestchallenge.blogspot.com/2022/05/fqcb-reminder-post-for-theme-4-poultry.html   a. HCQB Love Theme #3 REMINDER inspiration cards

Image
Hello! Becca's Heart for Love and Country Creativity blog is a personal blog to showcase the projects I create for Heart's Quest Challenge Blog and  FarmQuest Challenge Blog.  HQCB's current Love Theme #3 requires the word 'love' and an image of a guy. These 2 cards are from the REMINDER post.  I didn't get a guest designer for this reminder posting so I made 2 cards that use images I found at Clipart Library website that are free to print. Card #1 shows a jolly guy that will probably be mailed to an uncle with a summer birthday. 4 colors of stamp pad inks were applied with sponges from the right bottom corner and swept outward. The reddish-brown striped paper was traced and cut with a stencil as well as the film reel markings. The clipart had some color applied to brighten and connect color-wise. Cool graphic font lettering stickers were used for the sentiment. Card #2 shows a grandpa with his grandson which was mailed to a cousin's husband; my cousin has

FQCB Thanksgiving Harvest Appreciation Cards Challenge Theme #1

Image
Greetings from Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! This time I'm sharing the first gratitude cards made for Theme #1 at an extra challenge/page option at FarmQuest Challenge Blog.  At first I was planning the extra challenge page option to be just Thanksgiving Day cards but switched to appreciation cards with Thanksgiving/harvest topics and expressions of appreciation to be used in a combination themed challenge.  Theme #1 requirements are: *use the phrase 'give thanks' AND *use an image/photo/stamp with a mixture of fruits and vegetables #1= I recycled/upcycled a hospital health and wellness booklet photo image and some packaging (the beige cardstock circle under the image) to pair up next to the fantastic mushroom print cardstock that frankly almost looks floral. [ NBUS ; this is the first sheet used from Into the Forest, which I think is by Craft Consortium; along with the 3 different enamel dots] #2= For this card, ephemera from Simple Stor

FQCB Theme #4 Project

Image
Welcome to the 2nd posting at Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity blog! This blog has been created to showcase the projects I craft for my challenge blogs, FQCB and HQCB . For this 2nd post I'm featuring FarmQuest's Theme #4 topics elements of poultry and wire/metal.  This 2 required combo is a terrific farm/rural living theme. Even in most small towns across America, folks can have chickens in their backyard. Maybe I should do this???? Or maybe at my mom's farmhouse??? Okay I got sidetracked. However I do have a uncle and his wife/aunt by marriage who have some chickens, calves, and pigs, just a few of each, at their farmhouse about 10 miles from where we live. The Aunt "E" has a mid-May birthday and I thought she would love this card= Credits go to lots of different vendors: My Mind's Eye for the light beige and white chevron cardstock; red and white checked buffalo plaid paper from The Paper Studio; chicken wire cardstock, small text s

HQCB Love Theme #3 Project

Image
Welcome to the first posting at Becca's Heart Quest for Love and Country Creativity . This is where I'll share my owner inspiration projects at my challenge blogs-- Heart's Quest and FarmQuest . For this first post, I will share the 'love for a male' theme for HQCB's Love Theme #3. It is the current challenge running from May 14 to May 27, 2022. There are 2 requirements: *use the word 'love' (verb tense form or language equivalents are okay) AND *use an image of a male (boy/man; can be photo, stamp, digital image, sketch) There are many acceptable formats, so more than cards can be done.  My card is a flat mid-blue tone card that uses clipart to show a man with a young child on his lap. I've used the phrase 'with love' to get the other requirement onto the card. The background was made using 4 ink colors applied with a sponge with strokes and some zig-zag smooshes. Stamping, my own homemade stencils for the heart and oval, changed the color
